LASER
We are equipped with a multifrequency class 4 laser for the treatment of soft tissue injuries. This laser class is superior to cold laser widely used by other professionals/paraprofessionals.
Class 4 lasers allow more depth of treatment within a shorter time. We have been trained to safely use the equipment and deliver the most optimal protocol for different conditions.
How does it work?
In essence laser light therapy has an anti-inflammatory effect by reducing inflammatory mediators and improving tissue perfusion. It is also effective for pain management.
We normally use it in conjunction or as an alternative to anti-inflammatory treatment in acute cases. It can be particularly useful for tendon and/or ligament injuries, deep soft tissue such as Sacro-Iliac, enhancing wound healing and many other indications.
Shockwave (ESWT)
Extracorporeal shockwave therapy is a non-surgical and non-invasive therapeutic modality, useful for uses high energy sound waves applied directly to the skin using a probe. It is non-surgical and non-invasive, useful for increasing blood flow, and encouraging the production of natural healing factors in the treated area . This results in improved speed and quality of tendon, ligament, bone healing.
How does it work?
Shockwave uses high energy, low-frequency sound waves, delivered onto the skin over the affected area. It does not have any thermal effects (although it does make a noise!) It is useful for treating musculoskeletal problems i.e. soft-tissue and bone injuries.
